Green Housing Design Solutions Adapting to Climate Change for Low-Income Communities

Abstract: Under the pressure of the urbanization and climate change, "green architecture" has been viewed as the most important, active and effective contribution of the construction sector to ensure the sustainable development of the earth. Living for a long-standing period on the tropical land, Vietnamese people have accumulated valuable experience of the tropical architecture so that their houses harmonize with nature and create good living condition in accordance with the physiological psychology and the economic conditions of Vietnamese people. This paper provides detailed solution applying of traditional architecture to building modern green houses adapting to climate change for low income communities, especially floating houses to prevent flood and rising water in Vietnam.
